The Divine Connection Between Bodies - Part 2
Understand what is God's purpose in a marital relationship...
Continuing our previous article, you must have already realised that the sexual act was not meant to be casual, uncommitted, instinctive, dirty, displayed, selfish, violent, without consent and neither outside the context of marriage.
For just as we have to make a commitment to God so that we can then enjoy His Spirit, so too must there be marriage between man and woman so that both may delight in each other’s intimacy, and thus become one flesh.
“Now concerning the things of which you wrote to me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.” 1 Corinthians 7:1-2
Do you understand?
The physical intimacy between man and woman must be the result of a whole process that includes marriage and culminates in the privilege of an act that generates immense pleasure when performed with divine blessing. Yes, God blesses this moment, which He established between man and woman based on the intimacy between human beings and God.
The sexual act, when performed on the basis of obedience (marriage), turns two flesh into one, and two people united under God. On the other hand, sex outside marriage makes the divine project of two people becoming one, more and more distant. It leaves the practitioners at the mercy of the devil, who is the father of disobedience.
Note that Satan distorts the moment of intimacy of the human being with God when he deceives a person by making them fall on the ground, scream, jumping or limiting themselves to emotional songs of praise at the time of their worship. It happens in the same way with regard to sex. The devil has defiled, trivialised and diminished it. He has done this by means of “flings”, steamy dating, pornography and other nonsenses that exist in this regard.
“For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honour, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God.” 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5
Remember, sex is not about satiating one’s desires. It’s a merger of people who literally leave their DNA in you. See more on this in the video below!
