Youth Awareness Caravan

The Youth Awareness caravan visited the Playcenter in Sao Paulo – Brazil, on the 19th of February, which marked a very special date for thousands of Youth Group members from the city and rural Sao Paulo. The event was broadcast live on web radio. It began at 10 am with a performance from GN1, a Christian Brazilian band, and had other musical acts who also perform throughout the day, which allowed the youth to praise God in a joy filled environment.

Gifts were distributed to those watching the musical performances. Many visited the booths and learn a bit more about the special work being done at each Youth Group branch. For example, the A Higher Dose tent, had information about drugs and how they can destroy lives. During the intermissions, several youth gave testimonies of how their lives were transformed because of their faith in the Lord Jesus.

Pastor Jean Madeira, the Youth Group leader, said that being young means to never stop dreaming and that dreams were made to come true. He explained that what set this event apart from the rest was that the youth had an opportunity to act like kids. “Many of these youth never had a normal childhood due to the many problems they had to face; they didn’t get a chance to play and enjoy that time in their lives. This event gave them the opportunity to have fun in a healthy way by enjoying a playful, joy filled, wholesome afternoon,” he said.

In the end, Pastor Jean topped it off by recording a music video with the special participation of Gerd, a Christian Brazilian band.
