Words of a duke
Dear Bishop Macedo,
Your book “Nothing to Lose” had an impact on me.
I can say that reading it marked a turning point in my spiritual development, whose horizons had been limited up to then.
For example, I had a mistaken notion about baptism with the Holy Spirit, but now I understand the process clearly, which involves personal responsibility.
I was able to rid my soul from anxiety, despair and resignation that, among other things, marked my spiritual stagnation in recent times.
Bad thoughts were another aspect that filled me with confusion and guilt, and you gave me the recipe for effectively silencing them, teaching me a surefire way of attacking them on their very root.
What also impressed me was the spiritual strength that exudes from the text and overflows freely.
The book managed to communicate with my spirit, which was strengthened as I read about your spiritual accomplishments, which have been materialized and are now benefiting me and many other people.
Bishop, I could go on describing the experience, but the truth is that the honest simplicity of the text helped me to understand the deeply flawed nature of our ego or personality, a contaminated casing of which we need to let go.
It is a task that you teach in a practical way, through your own example, and which can only be achieved through faith and obedience to the Word of God.
Bishop, receive my gratitude for this book that expresses what it means to truly surrender our lives to the Lord Jesus. And I also ask you not to delay publishing the other volumes of your biography.
My warmest greetings.
L. Alonso González de Gregorio — Duke of Medina, Spain
