When I’m poor…
How do you know if you have a poor spirit? When you settle for less than you deserve.
I am going to give you some examples of people who think they are rich, when they are actually living like beggars.
Those who have a poor spirit:
Invest in what is short-lived.
Only take action when the circumstances are favorable.
Want to maintain a “surefire” position and be seen as successful by society, so that they will receive “respect” based on what others see and not on who they actually are.
Want to win people over by being fake.
Try too hard to be accepted by others.
Depend on material things to make them momentarily happy.
Wait for a familiar “change” to happen in order to be able to continue their routine; they are prisoners! They need a familiar environment in order to maintain their happiness.
Rely on external things and are slaves to these things. They aren’t free.
Are very particular about certain things; for example, get back the exact change when they go to the bakery, bring home every little hotel sample they can get their hands on…
Need money to be happy. Need another person to make them feel secure.
Always feel anxious because they are afraid of losing.
Need attention and praise because they are insecure of themselves.
Lie, cheat and trick others in order to maintain a false appearance.
Are envious of what others have.
Are anxious to get married, even though there are several signs indicating troubles ahead because of their character.
Use emotions to get ahead – are a people pleaser – give kisses, gifts, fake compliments…).
Need to read the Bible for a long time before “something” catches their attention.
Feel the need to be identified by their title and to be given the necessary respect because of the position they occupy. Get offended when they are not recognized or don’t receive the treatment they think they “deserve” (like being called Mr., Ms., Dr. Etc.)…
Don’t accept to lose (game, job position). They see everything as an injustice.
Search for someone that has the same abilities they do, or are “smarter” than, in order to guarantee they come out on top (they’re unable to face the situation alone, which they feel unable to do).
Force their opinions on others.
Hide behind what they do. Need to show off and always repeat how bad off they are ( are such hard workers, put up with so much at home, put up with the boss, suffer injustices all the time…)
Prefer quantity instead of quality (loves to get a good deal, sales etc.)…
And the list goes on!
So, do you want to continue being poor?
My dear reader, pay close attention,
In order for you to be rich, it must first come from within.
That’s what makes you independent, not because you know everything, but because of your faith.
In faith,
