What voice have you been listening to?

Imagem de capa - What voice have you been listening to?

Abraham had everything: land, relatives and his father’s house. And yet, his wife had not yet produced a son.

I imagine there was a voice inside Abraham’s head, that no one heard, only him and God, that spoke about how he didn’t have children. I doubt he went about complaining or grumbling to other people! But, without a doubt, at certain moments, a voice of revolt would cry out: “Why am I unfruitful?!”

The Lord said to Abram: Go out from your land, your relatives, and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, I will bless you, I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. Genesis 12:1-2 (HCSB)

God heard that voice inside Abraham’s head and spoke to him. Abraham took ahold of that voice, did not let go, and left everything behind. And he continued to hold on to that voice till the end of his life. Because of that, when he was old, he possessed everything that God had said he would have.

When a person has Abraham’s faith and there is something unfruitful in his life, even though no one else knows, there’s a voice crying out deep inside him, a shout that no one hears or understands. And when God speaks, he will leave everything behind, close his ears to everyone else, and hold on to the voice of the Altar till the very end!

How can we have the faith of Abraham and accept an unfruitful life?

How can we have the faith of Abraham and not revolt against defeat?

How can we have the faith of Abraham and continue to hold on to the voice of doubt, fear, indecision, skepticism?
How can we have the faith of Abraham and not leave where we are?
What voice are you holding on to?
