Under the shadow of the Spirit
Day 7 of the Fast of Daniel
The miracle of newness of life follows the same pattern as the birth of Jesus, the Son of God: Mary was enveloped by the Spirit of the Most High, and then Jesus was conceived.
The same process happens with those who are born of the Spirit, children of God.
Thirty years later, Jesus taught a religious teacher how to truly become a child of God:
…unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. John 3.5
To be born of water requires the thoughts of man to be replaced by the thoughts of God. The divine water washes futile, useless and vain thoughts, and occupies, in its place, the living thoughts of God.
Now, the birth of the Spirit occurs according to the angel’s description to the virgin Mary:
The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the Power of the Highest will overshadow you… Luke 1.35
This is what has to happen to everyone. All who, humbly, believe in the Word of God.
For this reason, the holy entity being born is called Child of God.
In conclusion, the Holy Spirit, through Paul, confirms:
Now if any man does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. Romans 8.9
The question is: Have you received the Spirit of Christ?
