True freedom

presa1

Freedom is often taken out of concept, yet it is highly idealized by man. Most people, during their search for their freedom, end up becoming a prisoner of something or someone, simply because they do not know what being free truly means. They are unaware that true freedom does not mean you are at liberty to do everything you want. It simply means you live WITHOUT the things you DO NOT want in your life.

A man, who thinks that having freedom means he can drink as much as he wants, becomes a prisoner of addiction.

A son, who thinks that having freedom means he can disobey his parents, becomes a prisoner of the consequences of his bad decisions.

A husband, who thinks that having freedom means he can have relationships with several women, becomes a prisoner of his eternal search for satisfaction.

A wife, who thinks that having freedom means she can say whatever she wants, becomes a prisoner of loneliness.

A young woman, who thinks that having freedom means she can give herself to whoever she wants, becomes prisoner of an unwanted pregnancy.

Those who think that having freedom means they can live without considering the Laws of God, become a prisoner of the devil and of suffering.

To be free is essential to man and only the Lord Jesus can fulfill this need. He said it Himself: Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” John 8.36

After all, everything we DO NOT want in our lives is the evil that the devil causes in it – pain, sickness, setbacks, grief, tragedy, sadness, poverty –, and he is only forbidden to provoke such things when we are under the protection of God, obeying His Word, in everything. And, once we are living without the things we do not want, we are free to live with the things we do want – peace, health, happiness, harmony, prosperity and achievements.

True freedom comes from discipline, because discipline is the most effective strategy to prevent suffering and to preserve order. This is why prisons are built for undisciplined people – and, no matter how absurd it may seem, it is done by their own hands.

Obeying God is the only way to be free, because it is also the only way to keep yourself from everything you do not desire.
