Time

Imagem de capa - Time

I was reading this passage and found it very strong. It talks about the risks of time. Ecclesiastes 9.11-12

We have to be very careful with time, because it has the power to make things lose value or appear to be worth more than they really do.

It is natural for a person to look after or care for something as long as it has value to them.

When time passes and something loses its value, we become careless, and when we get careless with something, we end up losing it.

Many people have fallen away and are falling away due to the action of time. Time has caused the things of God to lose value to them.

Speaking of the things of God, many of us have disregarded what many people would give anything to have, which is the opportunity we are having. Yet we are disregarding it. For example, a Sunday morning in the presence of God, a campaign of sacrifice, a Fast of Daniel, reading the Bishop’s blog, etc.

In order for something not to lose its value over time, we have to preserve it; in other words, we must take care of it every day.

And how do we do this? Through something called first love.

We marvel whenever we see a car from the 70s or 80s in the street and its in perfect condition – its value will probably be greater over time. The same happens with those who keep their first love for the things of God: time passes, but the value of their faith, loyalty and communion with God only increases.

In the letter to the church at Ephesus, the Holy Spirit says: “I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works…” Revelation 2.4-5

Through this passage, we can see that the person does not fall when they leave the Church, they fall when they abandon their first love.

The question is: Have you preserved your Salvation or have you been careless with it?
