“By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” John 15.8

When a person receives the Holy Spirit, they go on to have the same power that enabled the Lord Jesus to live a holy life in this world and to do extraordinary works. Our Lord’s ministry only lasted three years and He did what He did within that timeframe! Imagine if He had remained longer in this world! That is why He said:

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” John 14.12

He speaks of MANY fruits and GREATER works than those He did. With this, we understand that the good and faithful servant has the obligation of living up to the Lord’s expectations. There can be no excuses! If we have the same Spirit as the Lord Jesus, we have to make a difference in this world. Wherever we place the soles of our feet will be ours and the name of our Lord will be glorified.

We do not know how much time we have left in this world, so we have to be skilled at taking advantage of the opportunities that God has given us. Nobody can muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain. (Deuteronomy 25.4) God has been looking for people, men and women, who want to do greater works in this world for His exclusive glory. There is no time to lose!

It is impossible for a man filled with the Holy Spirit to go through a place, great or small – this makes no difference – and not leave his legacy for the ones to come. Our Lord Jesus is thirsty for souls and His servants are just as thirsty.
