The Voice of the Heart
God is spirit. This means that, in order to communicate with Him, you must be in spirit; from spirit to Spirit, from human understanding to Divine understanding.
My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding— indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.
For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 2:1-6
In these verses, we can see that the heart tends to lean towards understanding. It’s a place where emotions are submissive to reason and loud cries are based on understandings.
Unfortunately, most who believe in God, including evangelicals, have tried to keep this communion based on emotions. That is, from soul to Spirit. This won’t work. The proof is that they’ve prayed, sang and cried out a lot, but reaped very little, if any. Overcome by emotions, their faith neutralizes their supernatural faith and prevents them from conquering.
Obviously, there are deceiving spirits at work behind their feverous commotion. That’s why there are churches in such chaotic spiritual conditions.
Add to that, evil constantly motivating the unwary to listen to their heart.
In fact, the manifestation of emotional faith causes a false sense of being in God’s presence. Emotions can feel good and be very convincing, but they’re useless.
When you hear the voice of the Lord of Reason and put it into practice, there’s no chance you’ll go wrong.
