A successful marriage and our covenant with God walk hand in hand. If you’re able to remain faithful to Him, then you’ll be able to remain faithful to your spouse. If you’re able to sacrifice worldly desires to keep a clean conscience and close communion with the Holy Spirit, you’ll also be able to sacrifice yourself for your marriage and, as a result, you and your spouse will live in harmony. I’m left without a doubt that marriage is directly connected to our spiritual life.

Jesus’ motive for sacrificing was for the salvation of our souls. The winning of souls continue to be His goal until today—a goal that the devil also shares. The salvation of the soul is the life of the couple and of their marriage. Conflicts, incompatibility of character and any other difficulties in the marriage cause turmoil within the couple’s soul.

That’s the “epicenter” of their altercations. If these soul mates submit themselves to the Lord of peace, they’ll live in peace. If not, there’ll always be conflict and the end of the relationship is inevitable.
