The secret of victory

Doubt manifests in the form of uncertainty and insecurity.

When they don’t kill, they leave scars.

They’re the apple of the devil’s eye—hell’s deadliest weapon.

Humans consist of a body, soul and spirit. The spirit is responsible for our intellect, the part of us that reasons. The soul is the center of our emotions, feelings and sensations. Doubt can only affect those who live as souls. It cannot destroy me because a long, long time ago I became spirit.

Anything that brings doubt (slander, double dealing, gossip or biased reports) comes from hell.

Doubts scare, terrify, cause fear, panic, worry, anxiety, insecurity and eventually weaken the soul.

Because of these things many give up fighting, which is exactly what doubt is after.

The spirit of doubt knows human nature only too well. Our human nature is referred to as Adam-like because it has remained the same since the time of Adam, the first man. It is earthly, fragile, sensitive, easily influenced and takes offence at the most trivial things.

Emotional people cannot be blamed for acting emotionally. They were born that way and will not change as long as their nature remains earthly.

The Bible refers to the Adam-like nature as a living soul. Living souls are people who live in the natural world, and as a result are subject to the evil of this world.

“But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2.14

The slightest doubt is enough to slay the bravest man when he gives in to emotion because he’s a roller coaster of feelings.

Doubts are deadly. They aim straight for the heart.

Our heart, the origin of feelings, is impulsive. It is itself corrupt, and corrupts others.

It was made to feel, not think.

How can we get rid of the deception of the heart?

How can we defend ourselves from the constant stream of doubt?

There is only one way, expose your earthly nature to faith in the Word of Jesus and receive God’s nature.

How is this done?

We put away our earthly nature when we wholeheartedly, unreservedly give our lives to the Lord Jesus. This involves abandoning a life of sin and choosing not to do our own will or follow our feelings and emotions. It means living by faith and trust in the Word of our Lord. It involves willfully choosing to replace doubt with certainty.

This attitude of faith forces the Holy Spirit to transform our nature from an earthly one into a spiritual one.

From this moment on, you cease to be a living soul and become a spirit.
