A secret...

blog29062009

“Bishop, what’s the secret?” With great joy, I revealed, in detail, the secret of success.

“Give, and it will be given to you.” (Luke 6.38)

So simple, so plain, so straightforward… yet, very difficult to practise! Especially for those whose hearts are set on this world. But the truth is that this promise of the Lord Jesus works! I’ve learned this lesson. The more I give, the more I receive.

In fact, since my new birth, I’ve no longer lived for myself. Instead, little by little, I’ve learned to serve my Lord Jesus Christ. I am not perfect or super-holy—unfortunately! I’m aware of my flaws, mistakes and many imperfections, but I’ve learned one thing: to give!

I’ve learned with Abel how to be worthy before God by giving offerings of faith (Hebrews 11.4).

My wife, my children, the UCKG, Record Network, my life… none of these things belongs to me! Everything I appear to possess is in fact, on loan. One day, everything will be left behind. Those who are saved will come with me, and the rest will burn. Not one stone shall be left upon another that shall not be thrown down…

When we lose a loved one, we are in fact losing someone who has been lent to us. Nothing else. Only those who have learned the Lord Jesus’ lesson understand this! What really matters is to have our names written in the Book of Life. If we begin to live and think this way, we will stop worrying and we will live longer and better in this world.

The rest…
