The power of doubt

Imagem de capa - The power of doubt

I met a young man that had contracted the HIV virus during his teens. After some time, he came to Church, put his faith in action (which is being sure) and was completely cured. He became a member, an assistant and then a pastor. He met a young assistant, they got married and had a baby girl.

He was transferred to a city in rural Sao Paulo, where he continued fulfilling his pastoral duties. Then, one day, he was returning from a radio program with one of his colleagues. He was in the passenger seat while the other pastor drove. When they were stopped at a traffic light, a man knocked on the driver’s side window asking for help. He claimed to be HIV positive and needed money to buy his medicine. The pastor, who was driving the car, indicated a Universal Church that was close by. The man looked steadily at the pastor who was at the wheel and said, “You don’t have AIDS, but you do!”, pointing at the pastor in the passenger seat.

After those words of doubt were spoken, which came from a total stranger, the pastor who had been cured of the HIV virus and had a very strong testimony, began showing serious symptoms just 3 days after the incident happened. His hair started falling off, his nails became weak, his skin became flaky, and he started vomiting and losing consciousness, to the point where he needed to be rescued and rushed to the nearest hospital.

Conclusion: A few months later, he died. He left behind a wife and a 6-year-old daughter, who by the way was beautiful. Both were healthy. With all this, we can see how those words of doubt prevailed in his life.
