The Party’s Over
There are many people who believe in God and are part of a religious denomination, yet they still find themselves easily giving into the “festive” spirit.
How many people base their faith on their emotions, a song, an eloquent message or their friendship with other church “brethren”? How about those who cry and say, “God is with me” when they sing a beautiful song?
Unfortunately, these are the same people that will abandon their faith once the source of those emotions run dry and then, they’ll say things like, “God does not exist”, “God has forsaken me” or “the service wasn’t good today; I didn’t feel anything”.
This kind of faith doesn’t have the power to save anyone. Why? Because it doesn’t have quality. It doesn’t have quality because it is based on emotions.
On the last day of the feast, Jesus stood up and invited the thirsty to come to Him and drink. When you allow yourself to get drawn into the “festive” atmosphere, you fail to realize just how thirsty you are; because the truth is that you’re drunk with emotions.
When you forsake your emotions, put them aside and replace them with reason, based on the Word of God and the Holy Spirit will flow into your life like rivers of living water.
But this living water is not for everyone. It’s not for those who want to feel something. It’s not for those who want to see something. It’s not for those who want to experience an emotion.
This living water is only for those who believe in Him like the SCRIPTURE says!
The truth is that when Jesus said this, there were those who didn’t rejoice. Some recognized him as a prophet, others as the Savior. Yet, others wanted to kill Him!
This still happens today. When the Word is spoken, some think of it as something interesting to hear, while others rely on it to make decisions. Still, others try to silence those who preach it.
However, only those who surrender to the Word of God by practicing what is written, separating themselves from the feast of emotions, can attain true life.
They are the cause of the real celebration: the feast in heaven.
