The Number of Saved

Imagem de capa - The Number of Saved

When asked if only a few would be saved, Jesus answered:

“Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able,” Luke 13.24.

Numbers do not lie.

Although Adam and Eve had two sons, only one was saved: Abel;

Though Noah had three sons, only Shem was set apart;

Though Abraham had many servants, only 318 were born in his house;

Though Abraham had many children, only Isaac was set apart for God;

Though Isaac had two sons, only Jacob was set apart;

Though Jacob had thirteen children, only Judah was chosen to be included in the genealogy of Jesus;

During the slaughter in Egypt, only Moses escaped;

Though there were 32,000 men in Israel, only 300 (less than 1%) were chosen to save their people;

In the time of Prophet Elijah, God preserved 7,000 men from all over Israel who had not bowed before Baal;

Though 10 lepers were healed, only one returned to give thanks;

Though there were 12 apostles, one fell away;

Though there were three servants, one was disobedient and was sentenced to the Lake of Fire and Sulfur;

Though there were 10 virgins, only five held on to their salvation and entered into the joy of the Lord;

The parable of the sower notes that out of every 100 people who hear the Word of God, only 25 are saved.

The numbers confirm that many will try to enter but will not be able to.

“Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able,” Luke 13.24.

Are you one of the few or one of the many?
