And many brought gifts to Jerusalem for the Lord, and exceedingly precious things to Hezekiah king of Judah, so that after this he was exalted in the sight of all nations. In those days Hezekiah became mortally ill; and he prayed to the Lord, who spoke to him and gave him a sign. But Hezekiah did not repay according to the favour shown to him, for his heart was lifted up; therefore great wrath came upon him and upon Judah and Jerusalem. Then Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the great wrath of the Lord did not come upon them in the days of Hezekiah. 2 Chronicles 32:23–26
