The Greatest Gift in the World

Hello, Bishop!

First, I would like to congratulate you for the work that is being done in the prisons.

Bishop, we don’t have enough time to talk about the wonderful gift the Lord Jesus gave me, which was to have an encounter with Him, “to be born again”. A major transformation happened within me, this is why I decided to write this letter and share a little bit of this joy with you.

In my life, during 45 years, I was like a puppet in the hands of the devil; nowadays it’s the opposite: I have total control over the one who destroyed my life and caused me to be put in jail 11 times. That’s right, I was arrested 11 times.

I used to have an immense void inside. I dreamt of having surgery done to my heart so that the void could be filled. I used drugs, but none of them filled the void. I slept around with several women, but that didn’t make me happy. I came to know the nightlife in Sao Paulo like the back of my hand, parties, alcohol, etc.

During my search for happiness, I ended up in jail. This was when I stopped and analyzed my life. From inside the prison, I told God that I couldn’t stand to suffer any longer. I asked Him to truly show me the life He promised us – I was reading the end of the first page of your book, Rational Faith, which I owe you so much for teaching me to build a relationship with God through your wonderful books.

Soon after, a deep and sincere repentance was born within me. This was when I received the “Greatest Gift in the world.” The Almighty God came into my being and completely changed my life: overcoming sin, having self-control, and today the word “winner” is part of my life.

Then, I was blessed to be anointed as an evangelist of the Universal Church. It is with great pleasure that I do this work in here and open the church every day, praying and maintaining the church clean. Today I represent the Universal Church in here with a tremendous desire to speak of God to others – only those who have this know what I’m talking about.

Every day the Holy Spirit teaches us something, and I know that the best prayer directed at yourself is to do something for God; this is why I dream of being an assistant of the Universal Church. Certainly God already knows this and will grant me this responsibility. There will be no disappointments.

Bishop, I would like you to know that even in here, God has blessed me. I stay in Church in the morning and I teach a 2-hour class in the afternoon, and I earn the highest salary out of all the prison inmates.

There will only be victories in my life!

Regards,

Harold Dias
