The greatest battle
Feelings are one thing, believing is another.
In the kingdom of darkness, feelings count.
In the Kingdom of God, faith counts.
Feelings direct our choices and decisions.
They are the fuel that enables suffering to travel at the speed of light.
On the other hand, God offers faith as a way out.
It is simple and powerful for the simple, but complex and complicated for complicated.
The simple and humble of spirit understand it and soon take possession of its benefits.
However, the wise and knowledgeable are confused by it.
Faith is the revelation of God’s Power for the small.
The glory of this is so great that Jesus, moved by the Holy Spirit, rejoiced by saying:
“I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight,” Luke 10:21.
But the benefits of faith only come to those who are able to overcome their feelings.
This is the greatest battle of true disciples of Jesus.
If on one hand faith guarantees that anything is possible, on the other hand it demands that we overcome the feelings of our hearts.
But in the world of feelings, anything goes…
Even avoiding conflict and following the voice of the heart.
The greatest battleground for feelings and faith is in a person’s innermost being…
And every one of us has to overcome ourselves in order to be triumphant in our faith.
