The faith and love bandits

Faith and love seem to be the most commonly used words in the world.

And yet, a small few actually live them out.

Through a lack of discernment, many suffer and even die for these ideals.

Whenever faith is mentioned, human minds immediately associate it with religion.

But this is natural faith, which is indifferent and halfhearted when it comes to standards of Christian behavior.

It feels no responsibility towards true discipline or justice.

Religious faith runs on enthusiasm, feelings and the heart.

It does not reason, meditate or evaluate, but merely responds to circumstances.

This type of faith promotes social disorder.

Supernatural faith stands in contrast to natural faith. It is linked to obedience… obedience to the Law, the commands and the discipline of the God of Abraham.

This faith involves commitment and responsibility in its struggle to be righteous.

It is orderly and requires personal sacrifice.

Love is no different.

Many treat it in a vulgar manner, linking it with hollow, vain emotions.

People indulge in unbridled enthusiasm and mistake it for love because they are deceived, or because they lack discernment.

This kind of love is the same as natural faith.

All it does is bring disgrace to people.

Can an extramarital affair be considered an expression of pure love?

What kind of love would promote betrayal, hatred and death?

Only a satanic love.

The characteristic of authentic, pure love is that it never ends.

It goes far beyond sexual urges and experiences.

It is heavenly, as Scripture says:

“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails…” I Corinthians 13.4-8
