Abraham was God’s friend.
He gave up his world to walk with God.
Because of this, he became an enemy of the world.
Being a friend of God means being an enemy of the world.
Being a friend of the world means being an enemy of God.
This is why most people have poor quality lives.
They carry the same curse as the generations that came before them.
They are friends with the world, friends of evil, friends with Hell and enemies of God.
If you are a friend of God, what enemy can prevail against you?
Obedience to the Lord brings friendship with Him.
God became a friend of Abraham because he obeyed and was faithful to Him.
The friends of God are faithful.
They are faithful to their husbands and wives, faithful in their careers, faithful with the tithe… they are faithful in all things.
Faithfulness is a part of their character.
But the enemies of God are unfaithful and rebellious.
They are unfaithful to their families, unfaithful on their jobs, unfaithful as Christians and unfaithful in their relationships.
The devil became the enemy of God because he was rebellious and unfaithful.
All the children of the devil have the same character, the same evil spirit.
They are rebellious and unfaithful like their father.
All who are unfaithful to God are considered His enemies.
This is precisely what the Holy Spirit teaches, when He says:
“Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God,” James 4.4.
