The call of the cross

‘If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross…’

‘I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.’ Galatians 2.20

Whoever lives by faith in the Lord Jesus and has surrendered their life on the altar, shows that they have accepted to ‘go on the cross’ and there, die from this world, from their dreams and desires, in order to live a sacrificial life and serve only the One who saved him.

Thus, they decide to remain on the cross until the last day of their life, and that after their death, they may sit on the heavenly throne with Christ. (Revelation 3.21)

Nowadays, we see many who once said, ‘here I am’ to the call of the cross; gave up everything to serve; adopted a sacrificial life, giving ears to same plea from the devil saying—just like the Pharisees also said to Jesus— “If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross.” (Matthew 27.40). They decide to deny their calling and respond to the request to descend from the cross.

They want to sit on the throne of this world and, therefore, despise the mercy of the Most High God and the ultimate privilege of serving Him.

Unfortunately, whoever wants to sit on the throne in life, will suffer for eternity. However, those who remain on the cross for a few remaining years of their life will be entitled to the throne for all eternity.

God bless you all!
