The banker and the beggars
One afternoon, a famous banker was going home in his “limo” and saw two men on the side of the road eating grass.
He ordered his driver to stop, stepped out of the limo and asked one of the men:
– Why are you eating grass?
– We don’t have money to buy food, so we have to eat grass – said the poor man.
– Come to my house and I will give you food – said the banker.
– Thank you, but I have a wife and two children. They’re over there, under that tree.
– Bring them too – said the banker again.
And, turning to the other man, he said:
– You can also come.
With a very faint voice, the second man said:
– But sir, I have a wife and six children!
– They can come too – said the banker.
They all climbed into the huge, luxurious car.
Once they were on their way, one of the men shyly looked at the banker and said:
– You are a very good man… Thank you for bringing all of us!
The banker replied:
– My dear friend, don’t be ashamed, I’m glad to help! You’re going to love my house… The grass is almost 10 inches tall!
This is exactly what the prince of this world does. He has resources and wealth, and incessantly tries to “hook” the unwary and lost, all the while making it seem like love, charity and compassion.
Those who allow themselves to be guided by the feelings of their souls are exactly the same, while feeding on the “grass” of this world they are drawn in and carried away into eternal torment in luxury limousines, without even realizing it.
Thank you for your attention.
