The 5 powers we have
People have inherent abilities that they use (or fail to use) on a daily basis, without even thinking about how they will influence their life and future.
#1: The Power to BELIEVE (in Yourself and in God)
One of the most powerful forces people have, BELIEF makes all the difference in a person’s life and virtually every verse of the New Testament appeals to this ability in people—both for themselves and for God.
Belief in these two manners transforms a person and attracts all types of miracles. It does not need to be big, but when it is pure (free from doubt) it moves mountains. In truth, belief is the difference between life and death, between damnation and salvation.
Take a look at this verse: “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” Mark 16.16
#2: The Power to FORGIVE (Yourself and Others)
The ability to FORGIVE is one of the most liberating forces that people have, and its opposite is one of their greatest drawbacks.
Forgiveness is a power that rises from our interior and literally affects our exterior and everything around us. When we forgive ourselves and those who’ve harmed us, we create a wave of positive energy that benefits not only our lives, but the lives of all around us.
Take a look at this verse: “… if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in Heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.” Mark 11.25
#3: The Power to LOVE (Yourself, Others and God)
LOVE is not only one of the greatest earthly forces, but also one of the greatest supernatural forces. In the name of love the most honorable and most dishonorable acts have been committed.
Many kill for what is called “love”, and many others die for true love, as Christ did, filled with the deepest LOVE, the love for all Humanity.
When a person loves God and his neighbor as himself, he fulfills two main commandments of God.
Take a look at this verse: “If someone says, ‘I love God’, and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he sees, how can he love God whom he has not seen?” 1 John 4.20
#4: The Power to SACRIFICE (for God and for yourself)
This fact is imprinted on the human subconscious: When someone wants to achieve something in life, he has to SACRIFICE. We all came into existence through the sacrifice of our mothers, and as we grew to become what we aspired to be, sacrifice after sacrifice was required: school, learning a profession, our first, second and third jobs… until we achieved our personal goals!
When people sacrifice to God, however, they go beyond what is obvious and apparent and choose to use their intelligence. They reason that natural sacrifices may (or may not) have brought result, but that a sacrifice to God is guaranteed, since His Word GUARANTEES IT!
Take a look at this verse: “Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10. 19-23
#5: The Power to DISREGARD the first 4
In all 4 of the powers mentioned above, people are the biggest beneficiaries. “Others” appears 2 times, “God” appears 3 times and the “you/yourself” appears 4 times. But only when we learn to use these powers for ourselves do we then have the ability to use them for others and for God.
Think about and answer the following questions in a straightforward and sincere manner:
How can a person who doesn’t believe in himself, believe in God?
How can people who are unable to forgive themselves, forgive others?
How can those who do not love themselves, love others and God?
How can people who never sacrifice for themselves, understand what it means to sacrifice for God?
Whoever disregards the first 4 powers for himself, will also disregard them with God and others!
Take a look at this verse: “But be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” James 1.22
I’ll see you at the UCKG or in the Clouds!
