The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Forgiveness. Therefore, you cannot receive Him when your heart is full of hatred, hurt, and resentment.

Forgive, and you will be forgiven (Luke 6.37), Jesus commands His followers.

Disobeying this command is as sinful as the unforgivable sin against the Holy Spirit.

Because the same Lord also said:

But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6.15

How can the heart receive the Spirit of Forgiveness when it is dominated by the spirit of hurt?

How can the heart receive the Spirit of Love when it is dominated by the spirit of hate?

How can the heart receive the Spirit of Mercy when it is dominated by the spirit of vengeance?

How can the heart receive the Spirit of Humbleness when it is dominated by the spirit of pride?

There’s no way this can happen. Anyone willing to receive the Spirit of God must turn away from the spirit of the devil.

It is not impossible to have faith to forgive, because the Spirit of Faith makes this perfectly possible. Jesus would never ask for anything that could not be done. This would be unfair of Him, wouldn’t it?
