Servant to the Word of God or to Your Own Voice?
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…”
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
After Jeremiah had been sanctified by the Lord, he became a servant of God and, therefore, was sent wherever God wanted him to go.
“…For you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.” Jeremiah 1:7
So it is with everyone who is born of God. The Lord sanctifies them, through His Holy Spirit and then, they become His servant.
The Lord touched Jeremiah’s mouth and placed His words on his lips. Notice how interesting: the one who was sanctified by God and ordained His servant no longer had his OWN VOICE, but his mouth was solely to serve the word of God.
“Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me: “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.” Jeremiah 1:9
There is no way of disassociating the servant of God from the word of God. From the moment they stop having the word of God in their mouth in order to have their own voice, they have already stopped being a servant of God and become a servant of themselves.
