Servant, but innocent
The king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?” Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever! My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you.” Daniel 6.20-22
If there is one thing we cannot lose it is our innocence. Pure thoughts, good eyes, clean heart, ardent desire to serve better each day….
Daniel was a servant who made a difference because there was an excellent spirit in him. The king wanted to place him over the entire kingdom. He was faithful and there were no flaws or faults in him.
Three times a day, Daniel got on his knees and prayed. This caused envy, which is why he was cast into the den of lions.
God did not deliver His servant Daniel from the pit, but inside the pit, precisely because of his innocence.
While in the den, he did not cease to serve Him. It did not matter if he was in the palace beside the king, or in a den surrounded by animals ready to devour him, Daniel was a faithful and, above all, innocent servant.
Some will be cast later, others sooner, but all of us, one day, will face the lions. And those who have already faced them will certainly face them again.
What we must do is maintain our innocence, to always witness our deliverance and be honored by God Himself.
The Lord Jesus said:
And if anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. John 12.26
