Self-delay

Everyone is usually rushing. Rushing to work or school in the morning, rushing to have a break, rushing to finish something, rushing in traffic, in short, we live in an express society. If the Internet is not fast enough, people get mad – well, at least I do. Who has time to waste these days?

And yet, most people delay themselves every single minute of the day. Oh but don’t get me wrong, they’re rushing, they’re working, they’re doing something. The problem is that more often than not, they’re not thinking.

You may be extremely busy all day long and still not get what you needed to get done when you don’t think. You delay your progress in finding better ways to do what you do and when problems occur, you react to them emotionally. You want to cry or find a shoulder to cry on, when in fact, you know very well that that is not going to solve your problem – but you do it anyway.

That emotional state makes you look back and pity yourself. Search within your bank of memories just so you can cry a little more every time you remember things that happened, words that were said. I know how that feels, sometimes, sad memories try to pop in my mind. And if I give them just one minute of my day, it’s enough to weaken me. I’ve caught myself with tears in my eyes because of that unfortunate minute!
Emotions delay us, they don’t let us move on nor think or plan anything. They were meant to be too human, too weak.

If you find yourself in an emotional rut, remember how much of a delay you’re being for your own self. Use your mind to think about what you’re going to do about your life instead. Use your faith.
