Second love

time

Not feeling the same as we did when we first met God doesn’t necessarily mean that we’ve abandoned our first love. Having the joy of salvation, the joy of being delivered from the past and from an unclean conscience, having a great desire to save others, do the will of God and obey His voice, these are just some of the characteristics of an active faith. They are a sign of the unforgettable experience of having an encounter with God. But in practice, our first love is characterised mostly by the desire to save souls. A person who is born of the Spirit wants others to have, at least, the same as he has. If this focus is lost, our first love has been abandoned.

As time passes, many people lose focus of the goal they once had. Their spiritual vision towards those who are lost has been blinded. Now they only have eyes for themselves.

In this way, the prophecy is fulfilled, which says, “He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it” (Matthew 10:39).
