Same place, same spirit, same faith

What favored the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost?

Everyone sat under the same roof, as if waiting to be “served”.

Without being anxious, everyone waited.

Patience, courtesy, and chivalry characterized that environment of faith.

Even if they had access to current technology (cellular phones), nobody would dare take them to that Place of Faith.

Everyone in one place. Everyone enjoying the same thoughts. Everyone in unity.

Remember the vision David had?

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” Psalm 133.1

Everyone in one place means fellowship, unity of thoughts.

Nobody only thought of himself or his own interests;

After all, they were there for one reason: awaiting the Promise of the Lord Jesus.

The “land” was ready to receive the Divine Seed.

Stones, weeds, ants and anything else that prevented the growth of the seed in that land had already been removed.

Sincerity, repentance, humility, and faith, neutralized any evil attack.

Everything cooperated for the outpouring of the Spirit of Jesus.

All of a sudden, a sound came from heaven;

A sound as of a rushing, mighty wind.

It filled the house where they were sitting.

Certainly, no one expected to speak in other tongues.

They didn’t even imagine it.

But that is what happened.

Unexpectedly, it happened as a sign of the fulfillment of the Promise.

This happened because everyone was in the same place, in the same spirit and the same faith; therefore, they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance, Acts 2.4
