Revolt
It’s amazing how God manifests Himself, both in the past and even today, through people who are chosen because their lives are characterised by a spirit of revolt. David, for example, was not chosen because of his beautiful eyes, but because of the revolt he had inside of him. Proof of that was when David saw a lion with a sheep in its mouth, grabbed it by the mane, wounded and killed it. He was indignant when he heard Goliath’s threat and asked who that uncircumcised Philistine was who dared defy the army of the Living God.
That was the difference between him and his seven brothers. Though they were strong, able soldiers of Israel’s army, they were hiding – afraid of that gigantic, imposing figure.
David was so young that he couldn’t wear the armour offered by Saul to go into battle. But standing before Goliath, he manifested a faith of revolt, confronting him with words that didn’t match his very disadvantaged situation. “I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel” (1 Samuel 17.46).
How could God desert David? It was life or death. All or nothing. And the story ends the same way as it does for all of those who commit themselves to God 100%. The giant fell, David received the reward promised by the king, became renown by all and is honoured in Israel until today.
The Universal Church of the Kingdom of God is now in almost 200 countries, and its bold use of various forms of communication is seen by many as a phenomenon. Yet, none of that matters to us. What really makes the difference is our constant dissatisfaction at seeing unbelievers who have nothing to do with God coming out on top because of their persistence, their hard work, and in some instances, because they made pacts with the devil. As in the case of one woman who had nothing and lived off of people’s handouts, who became the owner of one of the biggest store chains in the world after making a pact with the devil. Does that make you angry, or not?
The Lord Jesus said “For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light” (Luke 16.8). Shall we, who are God’s children, accept such thing? No! A thousand times no! We’ve got to change this situation. How can we accept to serve such a great and powerful God and live defeated lives? That’s what Abraham said to God: “You have given me no offspring, indeed one born in my house is my heir” (Genesis 15.3). What he was saying was that he had the promise, but the inheritance was going to his slave.
Today it’s the same thing. Christians have the promise, like the Lord Jesus said: “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10.10). So then, what’s missing? Why so many defeated people inside churches? Including Universal Church? The fact is that people have not decided what it is that they truly believe.
How many are double-minded? On the channel of faith from the UCKG, they hear that if God is rich they can be rich too. But on the other channel, faith is just to be satisfied with your situation and even thank God for it. On the Universal channel, faith is revolt, war, and a sword in your hand to defeat your enemies; while on the other channel, faith is peace and love. On the Universal channel, people have to sacrifice to overcome. On the other channel, you’re taught that sacrifice is not necessary because Jesus already sacrificed for you.
When David decided to face the giant, his brothers criticized him and said he was proud and insolent (1 Samuel 17.28). David overcame Goliath because he listened to one voice only, the voice of God.
Today God is looking for people who are clothed in the spirit of revolt, who are conscious of all the things God wants to do in their lives, and who are not influenced by jealous brothers who only criticize and are often just stumbling blocks in the way of our victories.
My friends, it’s time to make a decision of faith and courage: EITHER GOD IS WHO HE PROMISES TO US, HIS CHILDREN, OR HE ISN’T! IT’S ALL OR NOTHING! WHAT CANNOT HAPPEN IS TO BELIEVE IN SUCH A GREAT GOD AND LIVE MISERABLE LIVES!!! LET’S STOP BEING DOUBLE-MINDED AND LET’S FOLLOW THE VOICE OF FAITH, which is the voice of revolt and certainly the voice of God against the devil and all his co-workers. Whoever is for us will have a decisive warrior like faith, and like us will be victorious. But whoever is not, please get out of our way, because we’re going to push forward like a road roller.
May God bless those who believe and live in this faith in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
