Reprimand of Faith

About 30 years ago I had a serious problem with my eyes, I thought that I was going blind. My eyesight became quite complicated. At the time, I was in Bahia – Brazil, and had to travel to Rio de Janeiro almost every week, because that’s where I found the best treatment.

One day, Bishop Macedo saw me and asked until when I going to accept that situation. He spoke in a tone of reprimand. I became so revolted against that situation that I stopped the treatment and I only went back for new exams 20 years later. The doctor asked me when I had been operated since the site of the problem had cauterized. This means that, at a certain point, the illness stopped. I believe it happened the day he reprimanded me because that was when I made a decision. Today, at the age of 53, I only use glasses for reading.

If a person uses their emotions, their revolt will be against the person that reprimanded them. However, if you use your faith, it will be turned against evil. How many have corrupted their heart because they found themselves in a situation where they hoped for another reaction from an authority figure, a leader. We have to be careful with our heart, because something that could be meant to lift us up, and even help us change our story, may end up getting lost in the middle of our emotions.

Can you imagine what would have happened if I continued thinking that my problem was serious and that the bishop wasn’t being compassionate? Today I would be blind.

Do not look at what is happening at this exact moment, do not be discouraged by the circumstances, use your faith. Later on, when its time for your test, the result will glorify the Lord Jesus.

In my case, I had faith to abandon the treatment. Every one must act according to their own faith.
