Pearls before swine
The Lord Jesus never said one single word in vain.
His thoughts and words always have one goal: to save.
Even if in order for this to be done He is required to give a clear and incisive warning.
Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces. Matthew 7.6
When He mentions the dogs and pigs, He was not trying to offend adversaries of the Christian faith.
He wanted to make it clear to those who waste time, like the hypocritical scribes and Pharisees, refusing to use reason.
Above all, they risk being bitten.
Dogs and pigs, like other irrational animals, do not think.
They act on instinct.
Why insist on wasting time trying to teach irrational animals about the justice, law, order or discipline of the Eternal Kingdom of God?
It’s like teaching dogs and pigs to read.
How do you remove pride from a proud person?
How do you remove the arrogance of an arrogant person?
There is only one way: let the setbacks of life do that for you.
As for the servants of the Most High, it is preferable to go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel… Matthew 10.6
The lost sheep of the house of Israel are those who are lost and in search of salvation.
