Whoever expects to see or feel something in order to move forward and act by faith, will die waiting.

That is how the religious act: they need to see or feel in order to believe, like Thomas.

Faith is assurance. Assurance that God will do what He promised. It has nothing to do with feelings.

Abraham is one of the greatest examples of faith. He never did any miracles. But, his strong dependence on God made him the father of the faith to those who did great miracles.

His faith did not depend on extraordinary deeds, but on his daily perseverant dependency of the Almighty.

The only sign that Abraham received from God, confirming that he would be the father of many nations, were the stars.

From a human standpoint, everything was going against the Divine Promise.

1 – Old age – one hundred years old;
2 – Sarah, his wife, had past the age of child bearing – ninety years old;
3 – She was sterile since birth.

Add to that: pilgrimages, the walking difficulties and dangers of the desert.

Still, he remained steadfast, relying on the Divine Promise and believing against all odds.

Perhaps you are experiencing a problem that to human eyes seems impossible to solve.

In Abraham, you have living proof of God’s faithfulness.

Just open your window at night and look up at the stars, which are the same ones that Abraham saw. And just like God spoke to him through them, He will speak to you too.

They remain steadfastly in heaven, not only to be admired, but, above all, to witness that the Word of God of Abraham is being fulfilled today, just like it was fulfilled in the past.

They served as a sign to Abraham and continue serving as a sign to those who choose to believe.

May the Lord God of Abraham open your spiritual eyes, so that you may see His signs!
