Open eyes, joyful heart
Today I won’t just be posting an excerpt from the book, I’ll be sharing the experience I had while reading this book!
I was on my way back home and, as usual, the bus I rode was crowded. However, I believe that God had already prepared that moment.
I always take the Oscar Freire route to the Universal Church I attend, which is in Rio Pequeno. I always stand, but yesterday, after passing through the turnstile, a man gave up his seat for me (miracles can happen, LOL!).
I started reading Nothing to Lose 2, but it was different this time.
Every word the bishop said about the events held at Maracanã and Maracanãzinho transported me back into the stadiums.
It was like I was there, and I really was, because I was able to experience, in a bus, what those people experienced years ago.
“I began the meeting in Maracanã and Renato Maduro, in Maracanãzinho. Our main concern was to bring that multitude of men and women to having a Heavenly baptism. The Spirit of God is at your disposal today, NOW. (The bishop was speaking to me, and I took that opportunity even though I was on a bus!). He is ready to make you into a new person. He wants to live inside of you.”
That was it, I couldn’t read the book any more, because the presence of God was already notoriously in me. I closed my eyes, and right there, inside a crowded bus, where even though I was sitting, I was still being compressed by those around me, I had an experience with God.
Oh, what joy! What a day!
Today I feel like a new person, which was determined thousands of years ago, at a time when I wasn’t even born yet.
Oh how wonderful is our God! And how good is it to remain sensitive to His Voice!
If I weren’t paying attention I would never have had that experience.
This shows that we should be alert and vigilant, like the Word of God instructs: Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of man is coming. Matthew 25.13
How can so much power come from a book?
This is Genuine Faith that doesn’t just come from hearing the Word, but believing in the Word, like in my case, I read and then heard the Holy Spirit speak to me.
May we have the same faith that the bishop has, which is capable of transmitting the power of salvation to all who are lost!
