One more continent
The series of launches of Nothing to Lose in Asia began in Japan on Thursday (28). One of the biggest Brazilian best-sellers of recent times, the biography of Bishop Macedo arrived in Hamamatsu, known as the Music City, at the Province of Shizuoka . A total of 7143 books were sold at the event, which took place in Act City, the highest building in Japan, outside the metropolitan areas of Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya. The autograph session brought together thousands of people.
These are rare numbers for book launches in the country. Especially, when it comes to Brazilian literature, which is hardly accepted by the Japanese.
The venue for the event has the appropriate size: Act the City is on the list of the 20 highest buildings in Japan. In the format of a harmonica, a wind musical instrument, the building traditionally hosts classical music concerts and major artists, piano recitals conventions and international entrepreneurs. But this week, the place that has even hosted a Bob Dylan concert, in 2001, came out of the routine with the literary event.
The number of people impressed those who passed through the region. In the queue that formed around the block, readers held posters of the book Nothing to Lose – a common practice in book launches in Japan
Over the weekend, the series of launch of Nothing to Lose continues in Asia. The biography will also be launched in the Philippines and China.
