''Nothing to lose'' and ''no'' to drugs
Bishop Macedo,
Attending your book launch here in my town was a special moment for me (an English translation is presently being worked on).
During the two hours I waited in line to buy the book, I thought about how far the Lord Jesus had brought me. Something spoke to me very strongly.
At the age of 15 I plunged into the terrifying world of drugs. I started off with heavy marijuana use and shortly thereafter began to sniff cocaine.
When I turned 18 my addictions threw me head first into the world of crime.
Like any addict, I did anything to get drugs, including stealing and dealing drugs.
I’d stay up all night, wandering back and forth on the street, fighting to support my habit.
What horrible times! I spent everything I had on every kind of drug.
I struggled to hide my wrecked life, but then my mother found half a kilo of cocaine and one kilo of marijuana in my wardrobe, and I tried to commit suicide.
I was admitted to two separate rehab facilities for treatment, but nothing could stop me.
It all ended when I found God at the Universal Church, after an intense battle for my deliverance. I am truly happy and free today. I have peace that no drug was able to give me.
Bishop, I went to the launch of your biography and decided to buy as many books as I could with money that I would spend on drugs in the old days.
I bought 25 copies of “Nothing to Lose” to give to my family and friends, many still held hostage by cursed addictions.
I know your testimony and faith will help them find the same salvation that I found through the compassion of the Lord Jesus.
Thank you for the opportunity to express these things! The book is SO powerful!
