Moses, the holy

We know that without faith it is impossible to please God. If it were a feeling, then, He wouldn’t demand it, because how could you impose something on the heart? However, because faith is obedience and dependence on His Word, it becomes difficult not to please Him.

Moses, for example, had an open channel of communication with God. As a servant, he makes the list among the faithful, as one of the holiest and most qualified of all times. He showed the following spiritual characteristics:

– The meekest among mankind;

– The Lord spoke to him face to face;

– God spoke to him on a friendship level;

– He saw God’s form;

– His face shone so radiantly after meeting with God that he had to wear a veil when he spoke to his people;

– When his brothers rebelled against him, the Lord himself defended him, saying:

…“When there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, reveal myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams. But this is not true of my servant Moses; he is faithful in all my house. With him I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the LORD. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?” Numbers 12:6-10

This shows how greatly he was esteemed by God. Yet, his life was not spared when he doubted. He stayed behind with the others. This episode occurred at the rock of Meribah. Numbers 20

His disobedience cost his entrance into the Promised Land. And when he begged the Lord to let him in, He became angry with him. All this came upon him because he allowed his faith to be tainted by the unbelief of others. And God said: That is enough! Do not speak to me anymore about this matter. Deuteronomy 3:26

Many Christians who are honest, sincere and perform their fundamental duties to God have been left behind because they’ve given ears to perturbed ‘brothers and sisters’. These people not only question the power of sacrificial faith but also like to spread their unbelief.
