“Moreover, you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of TRUTH, hating covetousness…” Exodus 18:21

All these virtues are very important and are part of the character of a man who proposes to serve God. However, the expression ‘men of truth’ makes us reflect on its real meaning.

A man of truth is one who honours his word and is righteous and upright in his conduct. He does not shy away from his responsibilities. On the contrary, he takes them on with firmness and dedication.

A man of truth honours his marriage and is sincere and transparent. Therefore, he is trustworthy. He has faults, just as everyone else. However, he does not evade responsibility for his mistakes, much less blame them on someone else. Above all, a man of truth is humble to listen and to learn.
