‘For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.’ (Romans 8.6)

The Lord Jesus said that whoever is born of flesh is flesh and whoever is born of Spirit is spirit (John 3.6).

Those who are still flesh (old creature) will not lean towards, or better yet, bow to the will of the Holy Spirit. And those who are spirit (born of God) will not bow down to the will of the flesh.

Therefore, in the spiritual world, there is no ambiguity: either a person is light or they are darkness; they either belong to God or to the devil.

To live in flesh means to heed the voice of the heart, which is desperately wicked and deceitful (Jeremiah 17:9).

The heart has been the reason for the suffering and ruin of many people. However, when a person submits themselves to the voice of the Holy Spirit (obeying God’s word), they become strong enough to resist the appeal of the flesh and remain saved in the presence of God.
