Sin has a life of its own. Much like an unclean spirit, it’s frequently instigated by temptation.

“…sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.” Genesis 4:7

The truth is that sin can no longer be the master of those who are born of the Spirit (Romans 6:14). That is, the spirit of sin has no power over those born of God.

Any and all of the sins of the flesh, such as: sexual immorality, impurity, debauchery, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy, drunkenness, orgies and the like carry with them obsessive unclean spirits . They have power over those who are rebellious, but not over those who are of God. Galatians 5:19-21.
