Jewish woman accepts the Lord Jesus
Good morning, Bishop!
I would like to share with you something that happened last week.
I would like to say that our Sunday morning meetings, aimed at reaching out to Americans, are beginning to give fruit. Gradually, people from India, Haiti, America and Israel have been coming to these meetings. That’s right Bishop, a Jewish family, composed of American Jews, began coming to Church a few weeks ago and for the past three Sundays the family matriarch has been present.
Last Sunday, the 3rd, only two of her children came. After the meeting, I asked her
daughter where she was. She said that her mother was very weak because the cancer had worsened, and she was in the hospital (cancer has been very common among Americans. A few days ago we prayed for an evangelical pastor from Fort Lauderdale, whose been in the ministry for 24 years and has been diagnosed with bone cancer).
That same Sunday, in the afternoon, I went to the hospital to visit the Jewish woman with my wife, Camila. There were many family members in and around her hospital room. Because there cannot be so many people in the hospital room at the same time, everyone left except for a Church member, who came with us, Camila and me.
Bishop, right there and then, with all my faith, I determined her healed. I told her that she could not accept that situation and that she was already a winner because she was seeking the Lord Jesus. She thanked me. Then I asked her to close her eyes again and surrender her soul to the Lord Jesus. She repeated word for word, “I accept the Lord Jesus Christ as the Savior of my soul.” After praying for her, I thanked the family for allowing us to visit and returned to the Church.
Bishop, this happened on Sunday, the 3rd, and on Monday, the 4th, she succumbed to cancer and died. Even though she was Jewish, she went against everything she learned about during her entire life and her family’s wishes, and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ. Today, I believe she is in the arms of the Lord Jesus.
As you can see in the photo, she is the woman in the last row, sitting among her children. This was the last meeting she attended. It’s interesting that when this photo was taken, she was holding the bread from the Lord’s Supper, surrendering her life to the Lord Jesus!
