Jewish man saved at the last minute

Dear Bishop,

We are experiencing wonderful days, in which the Creator has given us the opportunity to express the faith of the salvation of a family member by making a vow with Him.

My wife had a very strong experience with this purpose. She was raised according to the Jewish rules and rituals. She kept the “Sabbath” (Saturday), celebrated the annual “Yom Kippur” (day of fasting) and other Jewish rituals. She lived with some relatives who are very dedicated to the Jewish religion. Her relatives, on her father’s side, taught her the Hebrew language and religious practices. Some even live in Israel.

But, none of this filled the void she had inside. She ended up having depression and using drugs during her teen years.

That’s when I met her. I was also lost in a world of drugs. We met at a rock concert and started dating from then on.

My wife’s father, a successful businessman in the food service, was addicted to alcohol and cigarettes. He drank liters of alcoholic beverages and smoked two packs of cigarettes per day. He also began manifesting with evil spirits at home

Her mother, unable to bear with the situation, went to the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God in Goiânia – Brazil. There, she began to fight for her family. Alone, she made vows and sacrifices, until she finally brought us to Church and our souls were delivered. With perseverance, she also helped deliver the souls of her three children. Today, they are all in the presence of God.

We decided to get married, but it was the hardest day for her father because he refused to go inside the UCKG. The religious side of his family was shocked, because a Jew can only get married with another Jew, according to the norms of Judaism. My wife was called the black sheep, unclean and shameful because she was marrying a Christian.

But, even against his will, the marriage was performed, and he ended up agreeing.

However, my wife’s father, the Jew, became ill. He contracted lung cancer due to excessive usage of tobacco.

Very weak, lying in a hospital bed, the doctors told him there was nothing else they could do. My wife went to visit him. She spoke to him and evangelized him, saying it would be his last chance to be saved. Then she asked him if he would accept Jesus Christ as his only Lord and Savior. As he laid in that bed of pain, HE ACCEPTED.

My wife poured some water on his head and baptized him right there. As she returned home, he learned that her father had died. He accepted Jesus during the last minutes of his life, and I believe that he was saved.

Today, we are bringing the message of salvation to you and your family, because God’s Word never fails: “When a man consecrates by a vow certain persons to the Lord,” Leviticus 2.27
