What kind of spirit did the owner of the vineyard possess: content or revolted?

Didn’t this fig tree receive the same treatment as the others?

Didn’t it receive the same amount of water as the others?

Was the problem in the dirt, which was good for the other trees but not for that one?

If they all received the same treatment, why did the others bear fruit and that one did not?

Certainly, the tree was the problem!

Everything the others received, it received as well. Therefore, the fig tree had to bear fruit. That is why the owner of the vineyard was so revolted.

When his servant said, “Let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down” the master did not respond, because, surely it would do no good. During all of that time, they dug around it and fertilized it – everything had already been done in its favor.
