I want to be baptized with the Holy Spirit, but I also want to enjoy “the joys of the flesh”: impossible;

I want a new life, but I do not want to stop going out to the clubs: impossible;

I want the prophecy to be fulfilled: an abundant life, but I also want to remain “free” to do whatever suits me: impossible;

I want to take possession of my Promised Land, but I do not want to cross the Jordan river, or go beyond the walls of Jericho, much less face the intruders that are there: impossible;

I want to graduate, but I do not want to study: impossible;

I want to make money and have a stable life, but I do not want to work too much: impossible;

I want to get married and be happy, but I do not want to follow God’s advice and obey His Word: impossible;

I want to live by faith, but I do not want to sacrifice: impossible;

I want everything, but I do not want to pay the price: impossible;

I want to harvest a lot, but I do not want to sow: impossible.

I want to make an omelet, but I do not want to crack the eggs: impossible.

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. Galatians 6.7-8
