I had had enough and changed. How about you?

Bishop Macedo and Mrs. Esther,

I arrived at the Universal Church with a suitcase, nothing more.
My body was filthy, dirty and battered by years of prostitution and sexual violence in nightclubs and brothels in Spain.

I worked as a bank teller in Brazil when I was seduced by a job offer in Asturias, Spain.
As soon as I landed at the airport, I was taken straight to a nightclub where I was informed that a human trafficking network had bought me.

They took my passport and ID, threw me in a cramped, dark room and then forced me to take a shower before “welcoming” my first clients.
All alone in the shower, thinking of my son and my parents back in Brazil, I collapsed.
I had become a prostitute. I cannot say this without crying.

Bishop and Mrs. Esther, all hell broke loose in my life as I could never have imagined!
I was beaten by addicts and tortured by men with sexual fantasies that I cannot recount here. I was forced to sleep with five to six men every night. It is a rotten world. Only God and I know!
Lots of young Brazilian girls were raped for hours for trying to escape the nightclubs.

Once I asked to have my debt forgiven and one of the enforcers put a gun to my head. I saw so many girls disappear after being taken to the “spanking room”.
A Spanish pastor from an “evangelical church” became my lover and got me out of the nightclub. He also beat me.
He took care of me until he went broke, and then I was again sold to a house of prostitution.

One day as I was lying in bed at a brothel listening to the radio, I heard a pastor of the Universal Church and decided to escape from my prison. I walked through the doors of the UCKG in Seville, a humiliated woman with my entire life stuffed into an old suitcase.
Tired, with nearly no strength left, and kneeling on the floor I decided to change. I refused to sell my body any longer and started working as a maid.
After going through deliverance, I am a new woman. I am clean and transformed by the mercy of God and by faith surrendered on the altar.
The Lord Jesus has changed me, cleansed me of all the dirt, and has made me a new creature.

This Campaign of Israel was more than a decision for me. It formed a before and after in my life.
I looked at myself in the mirror and said: “I have had enough! Starting today, I have changed.”

Now we visit brothels to rescue other girls, and I repeat this phrase to the prostitute I used to work alongside: “What about you? Have you had enough already?”
Many are giving themselves to God and changing the course of their lives.

I was at the launch of you book in Madrid and rejoiced alongside my friends in faith. They are pastors’ wives and assistants who helped me and other young Brazilians caught in the grips of human trafficking.
As I read your biography, I easily identified with many moments of pain and injustice that you and Mrs. Ester suffered.

Today you are an example for me. I meditate on every situation that Mrs. Esther went through in search of the character of a woman of God… faithful and devout as she is.
I owe my life to you. I owe my life to the God of the UCKG!
