We were all gathered in one room—Bishops and Pastors responsible for each state in Brazil—listening to Bishop Macedo’s lesson on the importance of hallowing the name of the Lord Jesus.

It was a rainy Monday afternoon; the sky was full of clouds, but none of that mattered. Our focus was completely on that revelation. During the explanation, Bishop highlighted a lament of God recorded in Scripture:

“My name is blasphemed continually every day.” (Isaiah 52:5)

Therefore, our obligation is to sanctify His Name continually, every day. People need to see this difference in us through our righteousness, our character, and our behaviour. We can’t be like those who cunningly distort God’s law for their own benefit. It is our upright character that sanctifies the name of God, Bishop explained.

Suddenly, we realised that the weather outside had cleared up. As we looked out of the window, we saw an impressive scene: a vibrant rainbow, with colours as clear as we had ever seen before. But what struck us most was that we were right in the centre of it. It was as if God was saying to us, “What you are hearing and saying pleases Me.”
