From Muslims to the Lord Jesus
This is a picture of Murtala and Fatumata’s baptism in water. They used to be Muslim.
They arrived at the Cenacle of the Holy Spirit in Baixa da Banheira – Portugal, 5 months ago, with many problems. One of those problems was in their marriage. They were constantly arguing and were on the verge of divorce.
I remember the first time that I counseled him, he said that he thought about killing his wife. They did not have peace in their home, it was a living hell. However, after a short period of time, after participating in the Church meetings, they began to see a difference in their lives. The arguments ended and many other problems were also solved.
Bishop, the second time he came to Church, he understood the meaning of tithing, and decided to become a living tithe.
On the third day he came to Church, we began the Israel Challenge, where he and his wife were among the first to participate.
After the meeting, I went over to speak to him and asked if he knew what sacrifice meant. He explained that he had sacrificed to the devil during all of his life, because of witchcraft teachings and his previous religion, but from now on he was going to surrender his life to the God he had found.
Soon after, they came to be baptized. And I was struck by something he said. Before they were baptized, I explained about renouncing their will in order to obey the Holy Spirit.
And in the end, I asked if they understood. He told me that, one time, a friend needed money to go to another country and get drugs. His friend asked him to borrow some money, but he did not have enough. He gave his friend his BMW, so that he could sell it and get the money to go pick up the drugs.
He then said: “If I sacrificed for a friend in the past, now, I am going to do much more for the Holy Spirit.”
The difference is not in the amount of time someone has been a part of the Church, but in their complete and total surrender to the Holy Spirit.
