From a Youth Services Facility to the altar of the UCKG

Roger Alexander Santos was twelve years old when his father left the family and soon they began running out of food. Young Roger tried to find a job, but got involved with the wrong crowd and ended up using drugs and committing petty thefts.

Over time, these minor offenses escalated into major assaults. Until one day, he was arrested by police during a robbery and was taken to Fundação CASA, a youth socio-educational foundation in Brás – Brazil, UIP-8 and was then transferred to IU-36. That’s when he began attending UCKG meetings on Thursdays at 8pm. Here, he came to know the Lord Jesus through Assistant Francisca, from the UCKG in Bela Vista and that’s when he truly came to know His love.

Once he was released, Roger never went back to the UCKG. Some time later, he found himself alone one night and began crying. He remembered the vow he’d made with the Lord Jesus back at Fundação CASA. The very next day, he went out looking for a UCKG and decided to get baptized. Today, to the honor and glory of our Lord Jesus, he’s an assistant pastor.
