Forgiveness enlightens
Many have no idea of the importance of forgiveness. They see it as something common that can be erased with time.
If it was that simple, the Lord Jesus would not make it mandatory (Matthew 6.14-15), or determine that it should be done as many times as needed (Matthew 18.22).
Forgiveness is of God.
Grief and resentment are of the devil.
Forgiveness saves, delivers, heals, transforms, this is, it identifies what is of God.
Grief and resentment nourish hatred, anger, strife, and ultimately kill.
The lack of forgiveness means condemnation.
Grief is a seed of hell planted in the hearts of those who do not have God.
While forgiveness enlightens, sorrow brings darkness.
If God, who is a Righteous Judge, forgives, who is man not to forgive?
Whoever does not forgive, does not have Salvation.
Whoever dies without forgiving his offenders, condemns himself to the lake of fire and brimstone for all eternity.
